NBHI: the backstory
Hello! And thanks for checking out our blog! You may be wondering, what is NBHI? Well, great question! NBHI stands for the New Bedford Health Initiative and our goal as an organization is to bring basic health necessities to the homeless population of our city. These necessities include food, toiletries, blood pressure checks and more! Each month we're heading into the streets to bless and spend time with the people of our great community. I think you'd agree with me when I say, it's easy to focus solely on our own daily lives; our goals, dreams, flaws, how tired we are from doing ( wayyy ) too much or thinking that we are anyways. But the reality is, if we open our eyes and look around, we'll see an entire population of people spending their days and nights on the street, maybe pan handling, maybe just wandering around, with faces marked with hopelessness and despair.
